Last night I made my classic chocolate chip cookies, mini style.  The cookies came out great…

Perfect Bottoms

And then I tried to get fancy.

See now, I do not have to much experience with candy, or working with chocolate, unless it comes to eating it.  That I am great at.  I had the idea to dip half of each cookie in chocolate and happened to have this in my pantry.

Well this looks and sounds so easy: uncover, pop in the micorwave for 30 seconds, stir, and dip!  It’s as easy as 1, 2, 3.

The only problem is that I do not have a microwave (for health issues of course).  In order for me to melt this yummy chocolate I was going to have to do it ganache style, in a bowl over hot water.  So I came up with this:

And while it was a great idea, I clearly overheated it and ruined it all, twice.  That’s right I failed at it two separate times. I removed the measuing cup 3-4 times to stirl the chocolate and each time I ended up with a thick fudge like mixture. So while I may be great at making chocolate chip cookies with perfect bottoms, I am not so good at melting chocolate.

Until next time,
