My first Wilton cake.

Last night we learned how to ice a cake (so it looks professional), make stars, zigzags, and dots.

With the basic star perfected you can make a million different cakes.  The dots are a lot of fun.  They reminded me a lot of the decorations you used to see on a cake at your local Randalls or Kroger when you were little.  Now they are all fancy with their bells and whistles, but remember the simpler times, back at your 2 year old birthday party?  The days when a teddy bear cake was cool and a Barbie girl cake was the best?

Old school cakes, from back in the day:

And Rainbow Bright, he was pretty cool.

Some more from back in the day.
