Happy Independence Day America!!!!
What’s your favorite Patriotic song? The National Anthem is my favorite followed by You’re a Grand Ole Flag. But I am MUCH better at singing the National Anthem so that is definitely my first favorite*. For the 4th this year I am going to bake but I haven’t quite decided what yet. Here are some ideas, but let me know if you have anymore. I am thinking cookies, but cupcakes with Red Pinwheels are a close second. Happy almost 4th and Happy long weekend!!!!!!

and these delicious looking red, white & blue cheesecakes!

I think I am going to go with something along these lines
From The Well Dressed Cookie:
I’ll let y’all know what I decide and of course take pictures! Enjoy the holiday!
*Note: If the National Anthem hadn’t been the song requirement to try out for show choir in the 5th grade then I most surly would have made it. Have you tried to sing this song, alone, in front of two music teachers? It is torture.
**I was the only girl that didn’t make the choir in my whole grade!
Williams Sonoma has their Star Wars cookie cutters that came out earlier this year, but oh how they missed out on a cash cow! How could they have NOT made Twilight cookie cutters? Star Wars, sure they are classic, but with all the Twilight hype right now…cash in! CASH IN!
While we wait for Williams Sonoma to jump on the band wagon here are some cute ideas for a Twilight themed party or even just to celebrate opening day! Try some out! And go see the movie!

What are you getting your dad for Father’s Day? Hot items this year include an iPad, Bananagrams, Bose headphones for traveling, maybe even a round of golf. Well for those who are stumped or just want to make their dad’s day extra special, turn to the kitchen and surprise him with a treat he can eat.
Get creative, because that is what baking is about. If you can imagine it you can create it. Here are some of my dad’s day inspirations. Enjoy!

I think for dad’s day I am going to take the day off from baking and just go grab a beer with him.
No, not this kind. (even though it’s so cool and check out this blog College Candy, it’s a smorgeshborg of stuff, me like.) Probably just a normal, ice cold beer. I bet that is what he is going to want most.
Happy almost Dad’s day to all the dad’s out there.
